So far, we’ve covered how to set up Tags and Anchors.
Now, we’ll explain the final step: configuring and integrating the Listener.

What is the Listener’s Role?

The Listener is a core device that collects tag data and integrates it with your system.
If this process is not configured properly, real-time location tracking will not work, so accurate setup is essential.

Listener Functions

Connecting the Listener & PAN ID Configuration

How to Connect the Listener

  1. Connect the Listener to the USB port on your PC using a USB cable.

2. Launch the GrowSpace UWB configuration software.

3. Select the COM port connected to the Listener (e.g., Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)) and click the [Connect] button.

4. Once connected, set the PAN ID.

What is a PAN ID?

The PAN ID defines the UWB network group, and the Anchors, Tags, and Listeners must share the same PAN ID for proper data transmission.

What if PAN IDs are different?

Low Pass Filter Configuration

The Low Pass Filter helps reduce noise in location data, providing a more stable signal.

How to Configure

  1. Enter your desired value in the Low Pass Filter field.
  2. Click [Save] to apply the changes.
  3. Verify that settings have been correctly applied.

What is an appropriate Low Pass Filter value?

Setting values too high or too low affects signal quality. Testing is advised to find the optimal value.

Integrating Listener with Maps (Floor Plans)

Once the Listener is set up, you can view tag data on maps (floor plans) in real-time. However, setting up maps isn’t mandatory.

When is map integration necessary?

Setup MethodNecessity
Coordinate data onlyWhen only X, Y, Z coordinates are required (no map needed)
Map (floor plan) uploadTo visually track tags in indoor environments (map required)
Large spaces (factories, logistics centers, hospitals, etc.)Map setup required for easy asset and route monitoring

You can either monitor coordinates numerically or set up a map as needed.
For detailed instructions, see the Tag Map Setup Guide.

Advantages of setting up a map:

We’ve now covered the setup process for Tags, Anchors, and Listeners step by step.
Once you finish the map integration step, you can fully utilize the GrowSpace UWB system.
