Smart location-based service provider RoboFriend (CEO Kim Young-sik) announced on the 15th that it has officially launched its indoor navigation app, EGG Map, on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app enables real-time indoor navigation within large and complex facilities.
With the launch of EGG Map, RoboFriend is taking its first step in expanding indoor route guidance services to the large-scale complex facility market.
EGG Map is a mobile service that allows users to easily and conveniently navigate indoor spaces and access store information within large commercial complexes.
RoboFriend’s positioning technology enables stable indoor location tracking without requiring additional hardware installations—data can be collected simply using a smartphone. The system utilizes various smartphone sensors, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, while also analyzing magnetic field and radio wave data within buildings to create precise indoor maps.
Currently, EGG Map is available at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. QR code posters directing visitors to the EGG Map download page are placed throughout the venue for easy access.
In addition to its existing real-time indoor navigation and store information features, future updates will introduce new functionalities such as recommended visit routes, discount coupon distribution, and community engagement. The service will also be gradually expanded to large-scale shopping complexes nationwide.
Kim Young-sik, CEO of RoboFriend, stated, “We plan to expand EGG Map’s services across major commercial complexes nationwide through a step-by-step growth strategy, providing users with a seamless indoor navigation experience. Additionally, we will continue to explore collaboration opportunities related to offline location-based data analytics services.”
