RoboFriend Co., Ltd. Participates in the ‘Busan Coexistence Innovation Forum’ to Promote Collaboration Between Large Corporations and Startups

[Beyond Post, Reporter Han Kyung-ah] The city of Busan and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced on the 9th that they held the ‘4th Busan Coexistence Innovation Forum’ on October 29 at the Paradise Hotel in Haeundae-gu. This forum aimed to foster joint technology development, facilitate information exchange, and enhance mutual cooperation. It brought together three major corporations—Hancom Group, Dongwon F&B, and POSCO—along with startup representatives, investors, and related organizations, totaling around 100 participants. The event was designed to explore collaboration opportunities between large corporations and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

The event was structured into four parts: The first part introduced the Shared Growth Initiative by the Large, Medium, and Small Business and Agriculture Cooperation Foundation, along with success stories of collaboration. The second part featured collaboration proposals from the three major corporations and startup presentations. The third part was a talk concert on cooperative partnerships, followed by an open networking session in the fourth part.

RoboFriend Co., Ltd., a company specializing in unmanned system research and development, electronic circuit systems, and robot manufacturing, proposed a collaboration with Hancom Group in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, smart cities, mobility, and robotics. Following its corporate presentation, RoboFriend introduced its ongoing research and development project, an ‘Indoor Positioning Platform.’ As the importance of indoor spaces continues to grow, the demand for advanced positioning technology is increasing. RoboFriend highlighted the limitations of GPS and the necessity of indoor positioning technology. Their system, which utilizes BLE, Wi-Fi, and UWB (Ultra-Wideband) communication, enables precise indoor location tracking and received strong interest for its potential applications and scalability.

Kim Young-sik, CEO of RoboFriend, stated, “The Busan Coexistence Innovation Forum was a great opportunity to showcase our technology to large corporations. We will continue to actively promote and develop indoor positioning services so that more people can benefit from them.”
