IBK Bank Completes First-Half IBK Changgong Program with 64 Innovative Startups

The IBK Changgong (創工) Startup Growth Program for the first half of 2021 concluded with the final graduation ceremony at the Guro Center on the 24th.

A total of 64 companies successfully completed the program and received certificates at the respective center graduation ceremonies: Mapo 6th batch, Guro 5th batch, and Busan 4th batch.

Over the past five months, IBK Changgong has provided financial support, including investments and loans, totaling KRW 40.8 billion to its participating startups. Additionally, it offered 1,028 instances of non-financial support, such as mentoring, consulting, and investor relations (IR) sessions. The program also assisted in publicity, market expansion, business partnerships, and employment, fostering the overall growth of startups.

Notable achievements from the program include:

Mapo 6th batch startup BogoPlay, which operates a live commerce platform, successfully secured market channels and customers by forming partnerships with relevant departments within IBK.

Guro 5th batch startup Green System, a producer of eco-friendly biodegradable materials, successfully attracted KRW 9.5 billion in investment, including direct investment from IBK.

Busan 4th batch startup Lillicover, a provider of AI-driven personalized cosmetic subscription services, leveraged IBK Changgong’s networking opportunities to establish business contracts with global companies, laying the foundation for overseas expansion.

An IBK representative stated, “We plan to establish a systematic and comprehensive support system for IBK Changgong alumni companies. In addition to financial services such as investments and loans, we will continue providing non-financial services, including market expansion support through partnerships with various businesses and institutions.”

IBK Changgong is a startup acceleration platform that provides both financial and non-financial support to innovative startups. Since its inception in 2017 in Mapo, it has expanded to Guro and Busan, nurturing a total of 307 companies as of the first half of this year. The program has provided KRW 282.1 billion in financial support (investments and loans) and 4,246 instances of non-financial support, including mentoring, consulting, and IR sessions.

In the second half of this year, IBK Changgong plans to launch IBK Changgong Daejeon within the Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone to support the growth of tech and K-New Deal-related companies.

Additionally, IBK recently selected 62 innovative startups for the second half of the 2021 IBK Changgong program. Leveraging its operational expertise and the strengths of top accelerator partners—including NP15 Partners (Mapo Center), CNTTech (Guro Center), and iPartners (Busan Center)—IBK aims to actively support the growth of these startups.
