Reliable recognition without complex real-time positioning GrowSpace RFID Gate Recognition Technology

Not every site needs cm-level real-time location tracking. RFID tag ID reads and gate-crossing event detection alone, GrowSpace delivers reliable access and movement identification.

Core Logic

RFID Tag Recognition & Event Processing

RFID readers instantly recognize tags crossing a gate and generate access/movement events.
Note: Actual response time varies with tag update rate, network, and output configuration.

📐

1. Tag ID Reading

The GrowSpace engine's RFID reader reads the unique ID signal broadcast by each tag.

An RSSI threshold reduces false reads at the edge of a reader's range.
Channel separation across readers minimizes cross-gate interference in multi-gate deployments.

Method: Tag ID Matching
Complexity: O(1) per read
⚡

2. Gate Event Detection

Processing latency from tag read to event generation is kept to a minimum. Entry/exit direction logic lets a site gateway trigger control signals immediately.

Avg Latency: < 100ms (Engine)
Throughput: 1000+ tag reads/sec (varies by environment/spec)
🚥

3. Status Update & Alert

Duplicate-read filtering reduces false positives from repeat reads.

Configurable minimum-read counts and re-entry delay also reduce false negatives.

Logic: Finite State Machine
Events: Webhook, MQTT

Considerations

  • Recognition rate varies with reader range and tag density.
  • Environments with heavy RF reflection (metal, liquids) need reader-position tuning.
  • Gate width and reader sensitivity can be customized per site.

System Integration

Industrial-Grade System Integration

RFID gate events go beyond simple alerts, connecting directly with site equipment control and data systems.

Equipment Control (PLC/Relay)

Hardware Control

Opens/closes barriers or triggers beacons/buzzers the moment a vehicle crosses the gate. Supports Modbus TCP, Digital I/O and other industrial-standard interfaces.

  • Output: Dry Contact (Relay), 24V Signal
  • Protocol: Modbus TCP/RTU
  • Latency: Low latency (varies by I/O configuration/scan cycle)

Software Integration

Software Integration

Streams access logs and tag-read data to ERP, MES, WMS and other existing systems in real time over standard protocols.

  • Push: Webhook, MQTT Publish
  • Pull: Data Stream / DB Access
  • Format: JSON / Binary
